Wallsend dog attack: Woman, 29, Injured by Two ‘XL Bullies’ in Wallsend Residential Area

A 29-year-old woman in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, was seriously injured after a dog attack by two XL Bullies on Saturday night. She is currently in the hospital with significant arm and leg wounds.

Following the incident, police arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man on allegations of controlling a dangerously aggressive dog.

Two of the victim’s own dogs were also assaulted and are now under veterinary care. Police have taken custody of five dogs, including the suspected XL Bully breeds.

Detective Inspector Corrin Lowery of Northumbria Police emphasized that the incident poses no current threat to the community, according to the Daily Mail.

The spokesperson also mentioned that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway, and law enforcement officers will continue to be present in the area to conduct further inquiries. He emphasized that the primary concern is the well-being and recovery of the injured woman, as well as the welfare of her dogs. Early indications from the investigation suggest that all parties involved in the incident were known to each other, though the exact circumstances are still being determined.

As part of the ongoing investigation, two individuals connected to the incident remain detained, and the five dogs involved have been taken into police custody for assessment and safety measures. The authorities are committed to ensuring a thorough and transparent examination of the case.
