Prince William and Harry unlikely to meet despite heartbreaking death in family, royal commentator said

Prince William and Prince Harry are expected to avoid facing each other at their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral, according to a royal expert.

While it remains unconfirmed if the Duke of Sussex will travel to the UK to pay his final respects to Princess Diana’s brother-in-law, an expert has suggested that even if he does attend, he will not meet William.

In a conversation with the Daily Mail, royal commentator Michael Cole expressed skepticism that their uncle’s death would mend the brothers’ years-long rift. “Robert Fellowes’ death will not affect family dynamics,” he stated. “Prince William and Prince Harry have always been on good terms with their late mother’s sisters and brother.”

Cole added, “Apart from offering what will undoubtedly be their heartfelt condolences to their aunt Jane, the two royal princes will experience little if any effect from their uncle’s death. And it is certain that they will express their sympathies separately, and strictly so, such is the gulf that has opened up between them in recent years, compared with which the Gulf of Mexico is a mere puddle.”

Harry is believed to have “reached out to family members,” including his aunt Lady Jane Fellowes, following her husband’s death. According to a report by GB News, Harry has also spoken with his uncle, Charles Spencer, as well as his cousins, in light of the family’s recent loss.

The strained relationship between William and Harry has been a focal point of royal family dynamics in recent years. Despite the somber occasion, it appears unlikely that the funeral will bring the brothers closer. Their separation at the funeral would underscore the deep division that has persisted, even amid significant family events.

As the royal family prepares to bid farewell to Lord Robert Fellowes, the public remains keenly aware of the tension between William and Harry. Their ability to navigate this family gathering without crossing paths will be a testament to the ongoing complexities within the royal family.
