Prince William and Harry fallout: What went wrong between beloved brothers

The once-close relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry has reportedly deteriorated to the point where the brothers are no longer on speaking terms, according to royal insiders. Despite Harry’s public appeals for reconciliation, including a recent BBC interview, Prince William is said to remain firm in his refusal to forgive his younger brother.

Sources close to the royal household claim the Prince of Wales feels deeply betrayed by Harry, especially after the Duke of Sussex’s repeated public criticisms of the royal family. William is reportedly still angry over what he sees as Harry “humiliating” the monarchy on an international stage.

Renowned royal photographer Arthur Edwards expressed sadness over the breakdown in the relationship, recalling how close the brothers once were. “William and Harry were so close all their life,” Edwards said during The Sun’s podcast. “They went and did everything together.”

Edwards suggested that the public may not know the full story behind the split, implying that a deeper issue could be fueling the feud. “Something must have happened that seriously happened that William just can’t stand him anymore,” he said, describing the situation as “just so sad.”

However, Edwards remains hopeful that the fractured bond could be repaired in time. “I do believe in the prodigal son,” he continued. “You can say, I’m sorry, and repent and promise not to do it again. And I’m sure the King and William will say ‘OK, let’s give it another try.’”

Royal author Robert Jobson echoed the sentiment that reconciliation is still possible but emphasized that Harry must take meaningful steps toward mending the relationship. He insisted that the Duke needs to offer a “straightforward apology” to both King Charles and Prince William.

This follows Harry’s recent comments after losing a legal battle over his personal security arrangements in the UK. In a sharp rebuke, he labeled the verdict an “institutional stitch-up,” a remark that has reportedly intensified tensions within the family.

Edwards agreed that Harry’s public accusations are not helping his cause. “Harry has to stop this talking about stitch-ups and things like that,” he said, urging the prince to tone down his rhetoric if he genuinely wants a reunion.

Jobson added, “I really don’t know how the King can make the first move unless he can trust his son. And at the moment, we’ve not seen any evidence as to why he should.” With emotions still running high, the path to reconciliation remains uncertain—but not entirely closed.
