Triple Exit Confirmed on Coronation Street as TV Expert Reveals Shocking Soap Drama Secrets

Coronation Street fans are in for a major shake-up as three beloved stars from the soap opera have confirmed they will be leaving in 2025. Sue Cleaver, Colson Smith, and Charlotte Jordan will bid farewell to the long-running ITV drama, a move that has left fans shocked and speculating about the future of their characters.

The news was revealed by Sharon Marshall on This Morning on January 8, during her first appearance of 2025. Sharon, who provided a recap of the latest events across Weatherfield, Walford, and Emmerdale, broke the news of the upcoming departures. “I was gutted. I’ve known for a while but Sue Cleaver is leaving. Unfortunately, they don’t allow you to lock people in the set. It’s kind of illegal,” she joked.

Sue Cleaver, who has been a fixture of Coronation Street for an impressive 25 years, will leave the show to pursue new opportunities, though her exit leaves the door open for a potential return. Sharon also confirmed that Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, and Charlotte Jordan, known for her portrayal of Daisy Midgeley, would also be leaving, reported Daily Express.

“Sadly, we’re also going to be losing Craig Tinker [played by Colson Smith]. He didn’t solve much crime but he was such a lovely lad and the lovely Daisy Midgeley [Charlotte Jordan] as well. It’s the nature of soaps, lots of people leave as new people and new faces come in,” she added.

The announcement has sparked speculation about the fate of Sue Cleaver’s character, Eileen Grimshaw, on Coronation Street. Fans of the show have flooded social media, especially a dedicated Facebook group, to discuss the news. Opinions are mixed, with some lamenting Eileen’s reduced role in recent years. “She’s more just of a background character now, Eileen’s not had a storyline in years. Still gutted though,” one fan shared.

As the rumor mill churns, viewers are speculating about how Eileen will exit the show. One fan suggested: “I think she will split up with George and go live with Jason in Thailand.” Others shared similar sentiments, with one supporter saying, “I’ve been thinking for a while that they will split up.” However, some fans are hopeful that Eileen’s love interest, George Shuttleworth, played by Tony Maudsley, will remain on the show.

“Same but I hope George doesn’t leave as well!” one fan expressed. Currently, Eileen is involved in an on-screen romance with George, while her son Jason, portrayed by Ryan Thomas, left the soap six years ago to start a new life overseas after a 16-year stint on Coronation Street.
