This Morning Star Breaks Down, Saying ‘My Heart is Broken’ in Emotional Confession About Her Kids
0This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes was visibly emotional during a recent episode, sharing that “My heart is broken” after a touching discussion about her children. The moment came as Rochelle and her co-hosts discussed Channel 5’s new documentary-style show The Secret World of Children, which delves into what happens when kids navigate adult-like experiences.
The segment featured several child stars from the show, and as they shared their insights, Rochelle became particularly moved. The conversation brought back memories for Rochelle, especially of moments during parent-teacher meetings at her children’s school. She confessed that personal feedback like “She’s a good friend” touches her more deeply than academic achievements.
“They’re the bits that make me really emotional,” she said. “Best cleaner—if any of my three got the best cleaner, honestly, I would take that!” One of the young participants in the documentary, Theodora, shared a powerful observation: “I think [my parents] have learned I can stand up more than they thought I would,” she said, according to The Mirror.
She continued, “And that I am really true to what I believe in, and what I believe in is what I’ll do. I try to teach other people to do things their way but also try to do it respectfully and kindly.” Rochelle, overwhelmed with emotion, placed a hand over her heart and exclaimed, “Oh my gosh. My heart is broken,” as her co-host Joel responded with, “That’s nice!”
Rochelle, who shares three children with her husband Marvin Humes—Alaia-Mai, 11, Valentina, 7, and Blake, 3—recently experienced an emotional moment as she and Marvin bid farewell to their eldest daughter, Alaia-Mai, who was heading off on a school trip to France. Describing the day as an “emotional Humes household,” Rochelle shared how difficult it was to see her daughter off. “We have had so many tears this morning, and I have only literally just stopped crying,” she admitted.
“We just waved Alaia off on the school coach; she’s going to France until Friday evening. I will never get used to this, like ever, ever, ever. She was fine and she was with her bestie, and they had matching tracksuits on and matching hairstyles and everything. Then she sat on the couch, and I could see through the window she was crying.” Rochelle’s candidness and emotional reaction on the show resonated with many, reminding viewers of the deep bond between parents and their children.
