Taylor Swift wants out of Blake Lively ‘drama’ after private texts leak
Taylor Swift is reportedly keeping her distance from the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni after details of an alleged private conversation were revealed in newly unsealed court documents. Sources say the singer is unsettled by the situation and wants no part in the escalating dispute.
According to People, an insider close to Swift said the pop star wants to “stay away from the drama” following the release of the filing, adding that she felt her “privacy” had been compromised. The source explained, “Taylor feels like her privacy was impacted.”
They added, “Anyone would be uncomfortable if their private texts were suddenly made public.” A separate source echoed those feelings in comments to US Weekly, describing the emotional impact the situation has had on Swift. “It’s honestly been really hard for Taylor,” the insider said.

They continued, “Having her texts out there made her feel exposed and kind of violated, like, something private suddenly wasn’t hers anymore.” The controversy stems from a court filing made public on January 20, which included text messages exchanged during the period surrounding the film It Ends With You.
The unsealed documents did not only involve Swift. They also revealed other email and text conversations with Blake Lively involving fellow actors and public figures, including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and the film’s author, Colleen Hoover.
These materials were disclosed as part of the broader legal process tied to Lively’s ongoing dispute. The case itself began in December 2024, when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and claiming she was subjected to a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni has denied the accusations. He later filed a countersuit against Lively, but the court dismissed it in June 2025.

Swift became tangentially linked to the case months later. In May 2025, Baldoni’s legal team sought to subpoena her, alleging that Lively had used her friendship with the singer to assert creative control over the film. That move drew significant attention, given Swift’s high-profile status and her longstanding friendship with Lively.
However, the attempt to involve Swift in the proceedings did not last long. One month later, Baldoni’s lawyer withdrew the subpoena request, as confirmed by Lively’s legal team. Despite that, the release of the unsealed filing containing the text messages has continued to reverberate.
Those close to Swift suggest the episode has reinforced her desire to protect her personal boundaries. While she has not commented publicly, insiders consistently say she is prioritizing her privacy and emotional well-being, choosing to step back rather than engage in a legal dispute that was never hers to begin with.
