Tapestry Inc. Expands Board with High-Profile Appointments from Sysco and Bristol Myers Squibb

Tapestry, Inc., the conglomerate behind luxury brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman, has enhanced its board of directors with the addition of two distinguished executives, Kevin Hourican, the president and CEO of Sysco Corporation, and David Elkins, the executive vice president and CFO of Bristol Myers Squibb. These appointments, as announced by Tapestry, increase the board’s total membership to eleven, with ten serving as independent directors.

Joanne Crevoiserat, CEO of Tapestry, expressed enthusiasm for the new additions, highlighting their proven track records in fostering global growth and transformation. She anticipates their contributions will further Tapestry’s strategic goals and innovation, bolstering the company’s position in the market.

Hourican brings a wealth of experience from his leadership role at Sysco, where he has been instrumental in guiding the company through significant customer-centric and growth-oriented transformations. His background also includes executive positions at CVS Health Corporation and Macy’s, underscoring his expertise in retail and customer service.

Elkins, with a strong foundation in global business operations from his tenure at Bristol Myers Squibb and previous roles at Celgene, Johnson & Johnson, Becton, Dickinson & Company, and AstraZeneca, is recognized for his strategic and financial acumen, particularly in mergers and acquisitions.

Anne Gates, chair of the Tapestry board, commended the strategic and financial insights that Hourican and Elkins are set to bring to the board, anticipating their roles in driving innovation and disciplined global expansion for the company.
