Celebrity Big Brother Star Stephanie Davis Hospitalized Amid Serious Infection Scare

Stephanie Davis, known for her role on ITV’s “Coronation Street” and her appearance in “Celebrity Big Brother,” faced a health scare that led to her being rushed to the hospital with a suspected case of pneumonia. The actress took to Instagram to share her ordeal through a poignant black-and-white story, detailing her recent struggles with a persistent chest infection.

The 31-year-old actress recounted her harrowing experience with what initially seemed to be pneumonia, a condition that inflames the lungs usually due to an infection. “Had a bad chest infection for three weeks now. Went to the doctors today and they sent me to hospital thinking it was pneumonia, thankfully it’s just a really bad infection I can’t shift,” Davis told her followers. Her relief was palpable as she learned the diagnosis was not as severe as first feared but still required significant medical attention, told by OK!.

Stephanie spent the day at the hospital accompanied by her mother, who provided both emotional and humorous support during the stressful time. “My lovely mum sat with me for most of the day,” she shared, adding a light-hearted anecdote about a mix-up in the hospital car park that ended in laughter. “So grateful for all she does and has done for me. Felt like it was a therapy session. We ended the day on a good laugh, nearly wetting ourselves in the car park when she screamed thinking her car was bashed, dinted and scratched and then vigorously tried to wipe the mark off to realise it wasn’t her car.”

Despite the initial scare, Davis has been prescribed a course of treatment that includes steroids, antibiotics, and medication to help clear her chest. “I’ve been put on steroids now (they never agree with me) and more antibiotics and something to break up my chest so hopefully can have a day cough free soon,” she expressed, hopeful for a speedy recovery.

The NHS website offers information on pneumonia, noting that while most people recover in two to four weeks, the condition can be particularly severe for infants, the elderly, and those with pre-existing heart or lung conditions. Treatment typically involves antibiotics, and it is often contracted from others who are infected or from other infections.

Davis’s hospitalization reminds her fans of the importance of health vigilance and the unexpected challenges that can arise, particularly for those in the public eye. As she recovers, her shared experience underscores the vulnerability that even celebrities face in their personal health battles
