Rylan Clark reveals Spice Girls star behind his ‘sudden’ dismissal

Rylan Clark, the popular TV presenter and Radio 2 DJ, recently shared a surprising story about an encounter with Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell that almost cost him his job. The 35-year-old revealed the incident while chatting with Patrick Kielty, reflecting on his early days working as a hair colorist.

During the interview, Rylan recounted, “On one of my first ever jobs as a trainee, Geri walks in and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe!’ She was having her hair done, and I brought her a coffee. I said, ‘I’m so sorry, can I have your autograph?’ and she was like, ‘Absolutely!’ Loveliest woman ever.”

Despite the friendly exchange, things quickly took a turn for Rylan. He revealed that his enthusiasm for getting Geri’s autograph led to his immediate dismissal from the job. “She signed her autograph and left, didn’t complain or anything, but my manager was an a******* and he sacked me on the spot, saying you never ask a client for their autograph,” Rylan explained, laughing at the memory.

Looking back with a sense of humor, Rylan added, “Fast forward to now, and Geri is one of my good friends—I have sleepovers at her house, so f*** you!” He ended the story on a positive note, pointing at the camera with a grin.

Since those early days, Rylan’s career has soared. He first rose to fame after competing on The X Factor in 2012 and later winning Celebrity Big Brother. Now, as a prominent media personality, his professional journey and close relationship with Geri Halliwell make the story of his early setback all the more amusing.
