Ruth Langsford Shares Heartbreaking Update on Her Mum’s Health as Eamonn Holmes Steps In Amid Divorce

Ruth Langsford has given fans a glimpse into her personal life as she faces family challenges and divorce proceedings. The Loose Women star revealed that her mother, who is about to turn 93, has been hospitalized after a fall that left her with a fractured pelvis. Ruth, 64, shared a video on Instagram of her dancing in the kitchen, followed by a heartfelt message.

“No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas… she’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis!” Ruth wrote. “She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now. She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon. This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well… she’s a very strong woman so I’m sure she’ll recover from this too.”

Ruth continued, reflecting on the perspective this situation brought her: “Puts life and what’s important into perspective eh? Happy Christmas! X x.” She was met with support from friends, including Amanda Holden and Nadia Sawalha, who sent their best wishes for her mother’s recovery.

In a later Instagram update, Ruth shared a picture holding her mum’s hand in the hospital. “Hospital visit… thank you all so much for your lovely messages and well wishes for my darling Mum,” she wrote. “She’ll be in hospital for a bit longer yet, but she’s in pretty good spirits considering and I hope she’ll be home for Christmas.”

Ruth’s estranged husband, Eamonn Holmes, 65, has shown support as well, liking her Instagram post about her mum. The pair, who separated earlier this year after 14 years of marriage, have kept relatively quiet about their split, but reports suggest they are working to finalize their divorce quickly.

An insider revealed to The Sun that Ruth is keen to stay in their marital home, while Eamonn, who is reportedly planning to propose to his new girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42, wants to make a fresh start. “The aim is for Eamonn and Ruth to resolve their divorce as quickly as possible in the New Year,” the source said.

Ruth, however, has remained tight-lipped about the breakup but recently spoke about the challenges of going through personal issues in the public eye. She shared her thoughts while speaking with Tommy Fury about his split from Molly-Mae Hague, saying: “It’s a tricky time, as I know, going through all these things in public. Everyone’s got something to say, without knowing the truth.”

As Ruth continues to navigate family struggles and divorce, she has found solace in the love and support of her friends and family during these difficult times.
