Ruth Langsford’s Glow-Up: How She’s Thriving One Year After Eamonn Holmes Divorce Bombshell

Just a year ago, Ruth Langsford’s life was turned upside down. The much-loved Loose Women star, known for her warm smile and steady presence on daytime telly, was quietly dealing with heartbreak behind the scenes. In May last year, she and husband Eamonn Holmes announced their divorce after 14 years of marriage and nearly three decades together.
It came as a real shock to fans, especially as the pair had long been considered one of TV’s most solid couples. But according to sources close to Ruth, she’s not just bounced back—she’s blossomed. Speaking to OK! Magazine, one insider revealed, “Ruth has had a tough year – but actually, she’s realised a lot of unexpected positives have come out of it. She’s really coming into her own now and is putting the heartache behind her.”
They added that Ruth, now 65, is embracing her independence and learning to have fun again. “She’s learnt how to let her hair down and about the power of friendship – you learn who your friends are when you have a year from hell, and she has people around her who love and support her.”
While Ruth kept things graceful in public, it’s been reported that the split may have followed a difficult discovery. She was said to be “devastated” after allegedly finding messages on Eamonn’s laptop that confirmed he had been in contact with another woman, at a time when she was also helping to care for him through his ongoing health battles.
Despite everything, Ruth stayed focused on work and their 23-year-old son Jack. And while Eamonn soon went public with his new relationship—cruising around Europe with 43-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander—Ruth took a different route.
She returned to Loose Women in July after taking a break, and she’s been smashing it with her QVC fashion line, reportedly bringing in a cool £2.5 million over the past year. Her glam makeover and confident vibe haven’t gone unnoticed either.
Ruth’s leaned on friends like Lizzie Cundy and Rylan Clark for support—and a few nights out to dance it all off. She’s even been spotted letting loose on the dancefloor, showing she’s still got it.
In a frank interview back in February, she reflected: “You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.” And she’s clearly made hers.
