Ruth Langsford’s Future on Loose Women Confirmed as She Steps Back Again After Eamonn Split
0Ruth Langsford, the 64-year-old television host, has taken another break from ITV’s “Loose Women,” just days after making her much-anticipated return. This hiatus follows her initial break after parting ways with her former “This Morning” co-host and husband, Eamonn Holmes, also 64.
Ruth was last seen on the popular ITV magazine show on Tuesday afternoon but was absent from yesterday’s episode (July 29). A source has confirmed to the Mirror that this absence was planned well in advance. “Ruth is on a longstanding holiday that’s been in the diary for a long time,” the source revealed.
The announcement comes on the heels of her celebrated return to the show, which was met with applause from the studio audience just a week ago. Despite the warm welcome, Ruth chose not to address her comeback directly, instead, she seamlessly introduced the day’s topics as usual, reading from the autocue while notably still wearing her wedding ring.
The separation of Ruth and Eamonn after 14 years of marriage and a 27-year relationship was made public in May. Following the split, Eamonn quickly returned to his duties at GB News, while Ruth opted for some time away from television to recalibrate.
Ruth and Eamonn’s relationship began in 1996, after being introduced by mutual friends. They dated for over a decade before getting engaged and eventually married in 2010. The couple shares one son, Jack, who is 22 years old. Eamonn also has three children from his previous marriage: Declan, 35, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, 30.
Despite their separation, Ruth and Eamonn maintain joint custody of their beloved dog, Maggie, frequently sharing updates about her on their respective Instagram accounts. Eamonn recently posted a heartwarming photo of himself cuddling Maggie, with the caption: “A lot of you wondering about Maggie. She’s had an op to remove a growth. All well. Not bad for a 14-year-old! She’s in better shape than me.”
Similarly, just a few weeks ago, Ruth provided a health update about Maggie, sharing: “Maggie had a little wart removed this morning under sedation so she’s feeling a bit sorry for herself this afternoon! Lots of TLC from Mummy required.” She expressed her gratitude to the veterinary center, saying: “Thank you [St George’s Veterinary Centre] for looking after our precious girl.”
Ruth’s fans are hopeful for her return to “Loose Women” soon, and in the meantime, they continue to show their support through social media, eagerly awaiting more updates from their beloved TV personality.
