Ruth Langsford Responds Bluntly to Fan Questioning Her Wearing Wedding Ring Amid Divorce from Eamonn Holmes
0Ruth Langsford has offered a straightforward response to a fan questioning why she is still wearing her wedding ring after her separation from Eamonn Holmes. The TV presenters, who were axed from This Morning in 2020, announced in May that they had separated after 14 years of marriage and were in the process of divorcing.
Langsford and Holmes, both 64, married in 2010 after 13 years together and are reportedly committed to staying friends and keeping things amicable. Despite their split, Langsford shared a video on social media recently where she was seen wearing her wedding ring, prompting a follower to ask, “Why has she still got her wedding rings on?” Langsford bluntly replied, “Because I’m still married.”
While Langsford has not publicly discussed the separation since her return to Loose Women in July, Holmes briefly acknowledged the split on his GB News show, saying, “We’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I… Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
Rumors have swirled about Holmes dating his friend, 42-year-old relationship therapist Katie Alexander, with reports suggesting he had recently proposed after she was seen wearing a diamond ring. However, Holmes reportedly reassured Langsford that he was not engaged, told Belfast Telegraph.
Holmes and Alexander were also spotted together in Carrickfergus at an American diner, where a staff member noted, “He came in four days in a row. They looked happy… He was always very polite and friendly.”
The couple’s departure from This Morning in 2020 reportedly left them “furious” after they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary. Since then, Langsford has continued to host Loose Women, while Holmes moved to GB News to host a breakfast show.
Holmes has three children with his first wife, Gabrielle, and he and Langsford share a son. They married in 2010 after six years together. Over the years, the couple co-hosted several TV shows, including Gift Wrapped, How the Other Half Lives, and Do The Right Thing with Eamonn and Ruth.
