Heartbreaking Tributes Pour In for Sport Star’s Fiancé After Her Body Is Found in River
0Tributes have been pouring in for Róisín Cryan, a 28-year-old woman whose body was discovered in the River Moy in Ballina, Ireland, this week. Police confirmed her identity following the tragic discovery. Róisín, who was engaged to local footballer Conor Loftus, has left behind devastated family, friends, and loved ones. reports the Mirror.
The football club where Conor plays, Crossmolina Deel Rovers, expressed their grief on social media, writing, “We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Róisín Cryan.”
A close friend of Róisín’s reflected on their cherished memories together, saying: “I met Roisin during what turned out to be the best summer of our lives, living together in San Francisco. From the moment we met, it was clear she had a special kind of energy – gentle, kind, and full of life.”
She continued, “We were always up to some kind of mischief together, creating memories I’ll carry with me forever. Roisin was one of the most gentle and kind-hearted people I’ve ever known. I feel truly lucky to have shared that unforgettable summer with her. Sending condolences to her family and friends during this time. May beautiful Roisin rest in peace”, according to the Daily Record.
Another person shared their heartfelt condolences, saying, “Heartfelt sympathy to Joe, Marguerite, and Roisin’s sisters and to the extended Cryan and Loftus families on your great loss. Maeve and Roisin were always in and out of our house when they were children, playing with the dog and chatting to my parents, Eamonn and Bridie. With my sympathy and fond regards. Take good care of yourselves and of each other.”
The local GAA club Shannon Gaels also extended their sympathy, writing: “On behalf of the entire Shannon Gaels GAA community, we extend our deepest condolences to the Cryan family and loved ones of Róisín. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength and comfort in each other, and know that we stand with you in your grief.”
Róisín leaves behind her parents Joe and Marguerite, fiancé Conor, and sisters Annmarie, Clare, Ruth, and Maeve. Her remains will repose at The Heritage Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon tomorrow from 3pm to 7pm. Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11am, followed by burial in Drumlion Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to Grainne Uaille and River Moy Search and Rescue.
