Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster Devastated After Tragic Family Loss Shakes Their World

Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster are said to be “heartbroken” after a tragic loss in the family this week. Nicole Stewart, who’s married to Rod’s son Liam, shared the devastating news that her older sister, Christina, has passed away at the age of just 38.

Nicole broke the heartbreaking announcement on social media, posting a touching tribute alongside beautiful photos of her and her sister. “My big sister gained her angel wings and I’m not sure how I’m meant to do life without her,” she wrote. “She’s been my absolute best friend my whole life. My protective big sis that always had my back.”

In her emotional message, Nicole described Christina as someone who “made everyone feel seen, loved, safe” and was “the glue” holding the family — and many others — together. “You loved big. You nurtured. You protected. And family was absolutely everything to you,” she wrote, reported the Daily Record.

Christina, who lived in Los Angeles near Nicole and Liam, was clearly a huge part of their daily lives. Nicole spoke about the constant support her sister gave, saying, “There wasn’t a day she didn’t check in with each and every one of us. Her daily FaceTime calls, 30 texts at once… I now can’t imagine life without them.”

In an especially touching moment, Nicole also mentioned Christina’s son, writing, “We have Roko now, thank you for giving us him. He shines your love.”

Tributes quickly poured in from the Stewart family. Rod’s ex-wife Rachel Hunter, Liam’s mum, shared her own memories, commenting, “Such a shock. She had such an incredible energy she always brought into a space, a huge heart. My love to you all.”

Penny Lancaster echoed the heartbreak, writing simply, “So heartbreaking. Sending all deepest condolences.” And Rod’s first wife, Alana Stewart, added: “I’m so very sorry. God bless you and your family. Sending you love and prayers.”

Liam also paid tribute to Christina, calling her not just a sister-in-law, but one of his closest friends. “Beans… you were one of my best friends, if not my best friend besides my wife. I love you and I miss you being around a hell of a lot already.”The cause of Christina’s death hasn’t been confirmed, but reports state she was pronounced dead late on Monday, March 31.

The tragedy comes just weeks after happier news for the couple, as Nicole and Liam recently welcomed their second child, Elsie — named after Rod’s beloved mum. Christina had been present for many special moments with the Stewarts, including Liam and Nicole’s wedding last May in Croatia. Rod had celebrated the day warmly on Instagram, calling it a “wonderful union of The Stewarts and The Artukovichs.”

Now, just months later, the families are mourning the loss of a woman who clearly brought love, light, and warmth into their lives.
