Ranvir Singh Opens Up About Secret Split from Husband While Seven Months Pregnant

Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh has opened up about a deeply personal chapter in her life, sharing for the first time how she became a single mother while seven months pregnant. Speaking candidly on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast, the 47-year-old broadcaster reflected on her journey and how she’s learning to embrace it.

“I’ve actually been a single mum since I was seven months pregnant, and I’ve kept that so quiet, but I’m okay to talk about it now,” Ranvir revealed. The GMB star admitted that, for a long time, she compartmentalized parts of her life, avoiding public discussion of her struggles. “It’s funny because when people say ‘oh does it bother you when things are written (about you),’ but now I’m at a point in my life where I think that I’m learning to embrace my whole life and not compartmentalise it as much, to keep everything separate,” she explained.

Ranvir also spoke about the whirlwind period in her career, which coincided with her pregnancy. Starting her role on Good Morning Britain while expecting her son added an extra layer of challenge during an already demanding time. “It was quite interesting because I’d never done breakfast TV before either, and so, it was this sort of strange convergence of two massive things that people might do at separate times,” she said.

She added, “You know, you might go and work on breakfast television and deal with the shifts or you might have a baby and be knackered for two years.” Laughing about the exhaustion, Ranvir reflected on her mindset at the time: “But in a weird way, I was like ‘how tired can one person be?’ Like, whatever I choose here, I’m going to be absolutely shot through.”

This heartfelt revelation is the latest in a series of personal truths Ranvir has shared in recent months. Just two months ago, she opened up about her motivation to travel the world with her 12-year-old son, Tushaan. Speaking on Holly Rubenstein’s Travel Diaries podcast, she explained why creating memories through travel is so important to her.

“I always think that I want to be able to give him the opportunity to see as much of the world and do as many things with me, so that if something were to happen to me, he’d always have those firsts,” Ranvir said, showing her deep bond with her son. She revealed that this motivation stems from the loss of her father, who passed away at just 42 years old. The sense of her own mortality has driven her to ensure her son has meaningful experiences to cherish.

Ranvir’s honesty and openness about single motherhood and her personal struggles have resonated with fans, who admire her resilience and commitment to balancing a demanding career with raising her son. By sharing her story, Ranvir not only embraces her journey but also inspires others who may be navigating similar challenges.

Her message is clear: life’s difficulties can be faced head-on, and the most meaningful moments often come from the strength to embrace the unexpected.
