Prince William’s truth exposed: Feelings for Camilla are not what they seem
Prince William’s true feelings about his stepmother, Queen Camilla, may not be as harmonious as they appear, according to royal commentator Tom Bower.
In a candid discussion with The Daily Beast, Bower shared insights into the Prince of Wales’s relationship with Camilla and her family. “William doesn’t much like Camilla, despite having made peace with his father’s choices, and is made nervous by Tom’s [Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles] somewhat louche lifestyle,” Bower explained.
This tension reportedly influences holiday traditions within the royal family. “The Waleses have often not attended Christmas Day lunch at the ‘big house’ at Sandringham, preferring the informality of a relaxed lunch at Anmer Hall,” Bower noted. “They are unlikely to attend this year, especially if Queen Camilla again invites her son Tom Parker Bowles.”
William’s relationship with Camilla’s daughter, Laura Lopes, is also strained, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl. In her book William and Harry, Nicholl described how the step-siblings clashed during their younger years.
“William and Laura used to have terrible fights over who was to blame for their broken homes,” Nicholl wrote. “William would blame Camilla for all the hurt she had caused his mother [Princess Diana], which would send Laura into a rage.”
Laura reportedly didn’t hold back in these arguments, firing back at William with, “Your father has ruined my life.”
While Prince William has publicly shown support for King Charles and Camilla in their roles, these revelations suggest lingering tensions behind the scenes.
