Prince William ‘digging in his heels’ over peace talks with Prince Harry, insider says
Prince William is reportedly at odds with his father, King Charles III, over plans to repair the royal family’s fractured relationship with Prince Harry. According to reports, the monarch is eager to see tensions within the family resolved while he still has the opportunity.
King Charles, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, is said to want to settle the long-running dispute with his younger son during his lifetime. Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has previously spoken about wanting to rebuild relationships with members of the royal family following years of tension and public disagreements.
However, William is reportedly unwilling to take part in any reconciliation efforts at this stage. Sources cited by Heat World claim the Prince of Wales has been resisting efforts to begin peace talks with Harry, which has reportedly left the King frustrated.
An insider alleged that Charles is becoming increasingly upset about the situation, saying, “He’s furious and demanding that William back down, but he’s only digging in his heels more; they’re at a complete standoff, and the time is running out.”
The report suggests the disagreement has created a difficult situation within the royal household, particularly as the King continues to deal with health challenges. Princess Kate is also said to support the idea of repairing relations within the family. According to the same report, she has quietly encouraged efforts to reunite the brothers and ease tensions.
Despite those attempts, William reportedly remains firm in his stance and has not shown interest in joining any peace discussions involving Harry. Another insider claimed William believes Harry may be trying to benefit from the King’s current circumstances.
The source said the Prince of Wales thinks Harry is taking “advantage” of his father’s more emotional outlook during his illness. The report added that William believes “…if Charles wasn’t sick with cancer, he’d never fall for this.”
While Harry has publicly expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, relations between the brothers remain strained following years of disagreements and public revelations.
William’s reported position appears to be shaped by his determination to protect the monarchy and its reputation. According to insiders, the future king sees safeguarding the institution and avoiding further controversy as his main priority. For now, the reported standoff suggests reconciliation within the royal family may still be some distance away.
