Prince Harry’s Friend Criticizes King Charles for ‘Bad Decisions’ Excluding Harry and Meghan from Key Events

A close friend of Prince Harry has openly criticized King Charles for what they describe as “really bad decisions” regarding the treatment of Harry and Meghan Markle, particularly during the sensitive period leading up to Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, the friend pointed to a specific instance where the couple was excluded from a crucial family briefing, which was seen as a significant slight. Initially, Harry and Meghan were told they would be included in the briefing, but later they were informed that only working royals could attend.

“The King made some really bad decisions—it was conveyed that he didn’t want them there,” the insider stated. The friend expressed frustration over the exclusion, emphasizing the importance of Harry’s presence as the Queen’s grandson. “For f***’s sake, this was a global reception for his grandmother, and as her grandson, he should have been there.”

The friend further explained that the briefing was held at the palace just before a major reception, and it was intended for the entire family. Had Harry and Meghan attended, they would have had to leave the palace as other family members and guests were arriving, creating an awkward situation. “So in the end, they didn’t go,” the friend said. “The briefing notes didn’t arrive [via email] for them until around 11 pm.”

This exclusion not only prevented Harry and Meghan from participating in an important family moment but also added to the already strained relationship between them and the rest of the royal family. The friend’s comments highlight the ongoing challenges and feelings of alienation that the Sussexes have faced since stepping back from their royal duties.

The decision to exclude Harry and Meghan from the briefing has been seen by some as emblematic of the broader difficulties within the royal family. It underscores the complexity of their relationship with King Charles and the other senior royals, especially during significant events like the Queen’s funeral.

As the royal family continues to navigate these tensions, the remarks from Harry’s friend shed light on the emotional impact these decisions have had on Harry and Meghan, and they suggest that these issues are far from resolved. The friend’s criticism of King Charles points to a deepening rift and raises questions about how these relationships will evolve moving forward.
