Prince Harry Being ‘Hypocritical’ Again? Royal Author Questions
0Angela Levin, a prominent critic of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has reacted strongly to the Duke of Sussex receiving the Pat Tillman Award for Service, following criticism from the late hero’s mother, Mary Tillman.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the royal author tweeted, “Harry being hypocritical again?” She added, “Mary, the mother of American hero Pat Tillman, did not want Harry to take the remembrance award. She felt he wasn’t honorable like her son.”
Angela also highlighted Prince Harry’s remarks, noting, “He said, ‘The bond between mother and child transcends even the greatest loss,’ but hangs on to the award.”
In his acceptance speech, Prince Harry emphasized the collective effort behind the award, saying, “The truth is, I stand here not as Prince Harry, Pat Tillman Award recipient, but rather a voice on behalf of the Invictus Games Foundation and the thousands of veterans and service personnel from over 20 nations who have made the Invictus Games a reality. This award belongs to them, not to me.”
Despite Harry’s attempt to redirect the focus of the award to the broader community of veterans and service members, the controversy has highlighted the differing opinions surrounding his recognition. Mary Tillman, the mother of the award’s namesake, expressed her disapproval, feeling that Harry did not exemplify the same honor as her son.
Levin’s critique reflects a broader sentiment shared by some who question the appropriateness of awarding Prince Harry. The controversy underscores the ongoing challenges and divided opinions about his public role and the decisions made by institutions in recognizing his contributions.
While Harry’s work with the Invictus Games has been widely praised, the debate around this award demonstrates the complexities of his public image. As reactions continue to pour in, the scrutiny over Prince Harry’s actions and recognition remains a contentious issue.
