Prince Harry Accused of Bullying in Twist That Echoes His Own Royal Claims

In what some are calling a royal twist of poetic justice, Prince Harry—the Duke of Sussex who built a brand on calling out mistreatment within the Royal Family—is now facing bombshell allegations of “bullying, harassment and intimidation” from a charity boss who worked closely with him for years.

The scandal erupted last week after Harry stepped down as patron of Sentebale, the charity he co-founded nearly 20 years ago in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana. The organisation, which supports vulnerable children in Lesotho and Botswana living with HIV/AIDS, is now making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

At the heart of the controversy is Dr Sophie Chandauka, the chair of Sentebale, who has come forward with a damning account of what she claims is a culture of “bullying, harassment, misogyny, and cover-up” within the charity—allegedly led by none other than Prince Harry himself.

“For months, Harry tried to eject me using tactics I can only describe as bullying, harassment and intimidation,” Dr Chandauka claimed.

She has since reported the charity to the Charity Commission, citing a catalogue of governance failures and a power struggle that seems to mirror the very palace politics Harry famously fled.

The allegations strike a deeply ironic chord. After all, Harry and Meghan Markle have spent the past few years portraying themselves as victims of toxic royal culture, making global headlines with their Oprah interview and securing multimillion-dollar deals to tell their side of the story—reportedly including a $100 million deal with Netflix.

Yet now, the Duke finds himself accused of the very behaviours he once condemned, prompting a wave of media scrutiny and public disbelief.

The drama didn’t stop in the boardroom. Dr Chandauka claims that at a charity polo event, Meghan’s surprise appearance caused chaos, culminating in a tense on-stage moment that left Chandauka “in an unenviable position.”

To make matters worse, she alleges that Harry asked her to issue a public statement supporting Meghan, which she declined, stating that the charity must not become part of the Sussexes’ PR machine.

“The charity could not be an extension of the Sussexes’ PR machine,” she reportedly told him.

Following a failed attempt by Harry to oust her via a board vote—one that was halted by legal challenges—he allegedly sabotaged the charity’s reputation by greenlighting press releases that fueled the public fallout.

And while Dr Chandauka acknowledged Harry’s past commitment—particularly when he agreed to visit Africa for the first time in five years—she painted a troubling picture of power struggles and internal division, especially between the UK and Lesotho-based teams.

What was supposed to be Harry’s clean break from royal conflict is now looking more like a continuation of it.

“You simply couldn’t make it up,” the piece concluded. And frankly, it’s hard to argue.

As the Sentebale scandal unfolds, one can’t help but feel that Harry’s post-royal journey—marketed as a fresh start—is starting to mirror the exact turmoil he and Meghan sought to escape.
