35-Year-Old Woman Linked to Murder of 5-Year-Old Boy Found Dead After Horrifying Incident
0A British mother, Claire Button, has been charged with the murder of her five-year-old son, Lincoln Button, following a tragic incident in South Ockendon, Essex. On December 15, Essex Police and paramedics responded to an emergency call at a local home, where young Lincoln was found dead. Claire, 35, was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and, after being discharged, was questioned by police. She has since been charged with her son’s murder and is due to appear in court on Monday, reported by the Daily Mail.
Details surrounding the cause of Lincoln’s death and the nature of his injuries have not been released by authorities. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Blakesley, who is overseeing the investigation, described the case as “an immensely complex investigation into the death of a young child.” In a statement, he expressed his condolences: “My thoughts and the thoughts of all the investigative team remain with the family of Lincoln Button as we continue to support them through this awful time.” He also emphasized the thoroughness and dedication of the investigative team in reaching this stage.
Blakesley urged the public to avoid speculating about the case, noting that “any case as harrowing as this will understandably attract attention.” He asked for respect for the judicial process, saying, “The time has come to respect the judicial process and to continue allowing Lincoln’s family privacy and the space to grieve.”
Although Lincoln’s family has not publicly commented on Claire Button’s arrest, they have shared heartfelt tributes to the young boy. His family described him as “a cherished, loved, sweet, beautiful young soul who was adored by all and will be sorely missed every day.”
Bonnygate Primary School, where Lincoln had just begun his first year, also paid tribute to the child. The school remembered him as a “cheeky, smiley, happy boy who was loved fondly by our Bonnygate family.” They added, “His love for school, laughter, and cuddles will be remembered and missed dearly.”
As the legal process moves forward, the community and Lincoln’s family are left to cope with the loss of a beloved young boy, with many honoring his memory and cherishing the joy he brought to those around him.
