However, during one particular episode featuring The Mindy Project star, Meghan made a candid admission about her upbringing, which some viewers interpreted as a subtle dig at her estranged father, Thomas Markle. “I was a latchkey kid, so I grew up with a lot of fast food and TV tray meals,” Meghan shared with Mindy.
“It feels like such a different time, but that was so normal with the microwavable kids’ meals.” Her remark appeared to reference her early years, during which she spent time alone at home after school, relying on quick-fix meals. Mindy Kaling, visibly surprised, responded, “People wouldn’t believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box.”

While the Duchess, now a mother to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, did not specify which parent left her with fast food meals, she notably praised her mother’s cooking skills, a detail that further fueled speculation about a strained relationship with her father.
