Meghan and Harry’s Nigeria Trip Leaves King Charles and Prince William “Absolutely Furious”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Nigeria has sparked significant controversy within the Royal Family, leaving King Charles and Prince William “absolutely furious,” according to Royal expert Tom Quinn, via OK! Magazine. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to the African nation to promote the Invictus Games has been criticized as an unofficial Royal tour, raising tensions among the royals.

Speaking to The Mirror, Quinn suggested that Prince William is particularly upset with Harry over what he perceives as an attempt to maintain their status as working royals. “William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in the future,” Quinn stated. “Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him.”

The Royal family is reportedly disturbed by how Meghan and Harry were received in Nigeria. Treated with the honors typically reserved for official Royal tours, the couple was welcomed with dances, receptions, and visits to schools and charities. This reception has exacerbated the Royal family’s concerns that Meghan and Harry might be trying to operate as independent royals.

Quinn elaborated on these concerns, saying, “It’s as if Harry and Meghan have gone rogue. Their Nigeria trip is a bold statement that they refuse to accept they are no longer working royals.” He added that William and Charles are struggling to manage the situation, wondering, “How are we going to control this nightmare situation?”

The expert pointed out that the events during the Nigeria trip mirrored official Royal engagements, including receptions, school visits, and meetings with wounded soldiers and the disabled. He emphasized that Meghan and Harry’s actions and speeches during the trip were designed to give the impression that they are still active royals, much to the dismay of William and Charles.

“For Charles and William, it’s as if Meghan and Harry are saying, ‘We don’t need your permission to be working royals; we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like,'” Quinn concluded.

The trip to Nigeria, part of their ongoing efforts to promote the Invictus Games, has highlighted the ongoing friction between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the Royals will address these challenges and whether any resolution will be reached to manage the divergent paths taken by Harry and Meghan.
