Meghan and Harry’s Colombia Trip Sparks Royal Fury: “Annoying for the King, Infuriating for William

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Colombia has reportedly not sat well with Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family. Despite having lost their right to represent the Royals publicly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being criticized for appearing to do just that during their South American visit.

Royal expert Angela Levin told GB News, “It doesn’t look good. They aren’t representing the royals, but they are trying to.” She added, “Unless they break themselves away completely, they don’t have the right to do this. It will be very annoying for the King and infuriating for William.”

Levin also drew comparisons between Meghan and Harry’s visit and a recent trip to Colombia by Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. “Sophie Wessex went to meet the same woman Meghan is meeting, the vice president. She spoke about women not being treated well and went to look at what could be done.

I was astonished when I read that because she is close to the Royal Family, and they didn’t seem to mind her doing it,” Levin noted. She further remarked, “So it can’t be as bad out there as what is being made out. But it’s still dangerous.”

Meanwhile, Daily Mail columnist Ephraim Hardcastle suggested that while the Sussexes’ trip to Colombia might be seen as controversial, it hasn’t caused as much upset within the Royal Family as some might think. Hardcastle noted, “Harry and Meghan’s trip to Colombia later this year won’t upset the King and the Prince of Wales.

They feared the Sussex duo might choose a different destination: a headline-stealing jaunt to the Paris Olympics.” The ongoing tension surrounding the Sussexes’ public appearances continues to spark debate, with royal watchers closely following how these events impact their relationship with the Royal Family.

As Harry and Meghan navigate their new roles outside the official royal fold, their actions remain under intense scrutiny, particularly from those within the monarchy.
