Meghan Markle ‘irritated’ as she’s ‘shoved along’ red carpet in awkward moment

At a recent event, Meghan Markle experienced a somewhat uncomfortable moment when she was prompted, even slightly shoved, to move along the red carpet more quickly than expected.

A body language expert analyzed the incident, noting that while the Duchess of Sussex maintained her composure, she appeared slightly perturbed by being rushed, a common occurrence for celebrities.

Meghan, 42, attended Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles last Thursday. As a high-profile guest, she was photographed on the red carpet. However, footage from the event captured an assistant nudging Meghan to keep moving. Despite briefly continuing her pose, Meghan eventually engaged with the assistant and proceeded.

Judi James, a body language expert, shared her insights with GB News. She observed that Meghan has become adept at gracefully handling potentially awkward situations, thus safeguarding her public image. Judi noted the challenge Meghan faced in maintaining her duchess status while avoiding any display of irritation.

Publicists at such events are known for their assertive guidance of celebrities, ensuring that prominent figures receive adequate attention. Judi pointed out that Meghan seemed deeply focused during her photo session and initially did not notice the assistant’s hand reaching out to her, an action that inadvertently intruded into her photos.

This gesture, Judi explained, often implies that a guest has lingered too long on the red carpet, making way for more prominent attendees. While being led or gently directed is common, being pushed along, even subtly, can reflect poorly on a celebrity’s status, told Express.

Meghan, upon realizing the situation, appeared to ignore the hand initially, continuing to pose for photographs. However, she eventually acknowledged the assistant with what Judi described as a recovery gesture, shaking the hand as if to signal friendliness before returning to pose for a few more shots.

Judi analyzed this red carpet moment as somewhat marred by the intrusion of the hand and the implied lower status of being hurried along. She contrasted this with the typical treatment of the Royal Family, who are not usually ushered in such a manner. This situation represented a minor clash between Meghan’s current status as a duchess and her past as an actress.

Despite the potential for embarrassment, Meghan managed to handle the situation without showing annoyance, effectively navigating a delicate moment of status conflict on the red carpet.
