Maura Higgins Admits She’s Missing Mystery Man on I’m A Celebrity

Former Love Island star Maura Higgins sparked intrigue during Sunday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after admitting she’s been “seeing someone” since July and is missing him while in the jungle, reported by Metro.co.uk.

When asked by fellow campmate Oti Mabuse if she was single, Higgins said she was but clarified, “I’ve been seeing someone since July.” When Reverend Richard Coles pressed her on whether the relationship was exclusive, she replied, “I don’t know,” but revealed she was missing him and hinted he was someone the campmates might recognize.

Discussing her feelings further, Higgins admitted she’s never been in love before. When radio presenter Dean McCullough asked, “Does it feel different this time?” she replied, “It does, but then is it because we’ve known each other for a long time?” Coles added humorously, “You’d know if he was an asshole or not by now,” to which Higgins smiled and confirmed, “Yeah, he’s not an asshole”, according to London Evening Standard.

The revelation comes amidst ongoing speculation about Higgins’ love life. She has previously been linked to reality TV star Pete Wicks, though he recently denied any romance with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystal, emphasizing their close friendship instead.

Later in the episode, former boxing champion Barry McGuigan volunteered for the Spiralling Out Of Control Bushtucker Trial. Determined to redeem himself after a previous failure, McGuigan faced a spinning wheel challenge while being pelted with offal, cockroaches, and mealworms. Despite a slow start, he managed to secure 10 out of 11 stars, delighting his campmates.

The campmates also participated in the Silent Letters Challenge, guessing phrases mouthed by loved ones to earn letters from home. Oti Mabuse initially struggled with her husband Marius Iepure’s phrase, “Aero island,” before realizing it was where they got married. Coleen Rooney revealed her phrase, “petrol station,” referencing the unconventional spot where her husband Wayne proposed. “I knew it was going to happen but definitely didn’t know it was going to be in a petrol station,” she laughed. “We were only young, so we went back and had corned beef hash instead.”

The episode combined heartfelt moments and lighthearted revelations, keeping fans engaged as the jungle camaraderie deepened. Maura’s romantic confession, in particular, has left viewers eager to uncover the identity of her mystery man.
