Matthew Perry’s Mother Reveals ‘Premonition’ in Final Conversation Before His Death

Matthew Perry’s mother, Suzanne Morrison, has shared her concerns about her late son’s behavior during one of their final conversations before his tragic death. Perry, best known for his role in Friends, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on October 28 last year at the age of 54. The autopsy report confirmed that he died from an accidental drug overdose, citing the acute effects of ketamine, with contributing factors including drowning.

Now, a year after Perry’s passing, Morrison has opened up about their final interaction. Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show, Morrison revealed that she had noticed something felt off with Perry during a recent meeting before his death.

Recalling the moment, Morrison said, “He went through a period, interestingly enough just before he died, when he was showing me one of his new houses, via Variety. He came up to me and he said, ‘I love you so much and I’m so happy to be with you now.’ It was almost as though it was a premonition or something. I didn’t think about it at the time but I thought, ‘How long has it been since we’ve had a conversation like that? It’s been years.’”

Morrison further explained that Perry seemed unusually at peace, as if he sensed what was coming next. She shared, “I think there was something. There was an inevitability to what was going to happen next to him, and he felt it very strongly. But he said, ‘I’m not frightened anymore.’ And it worried me.”

Morrison, along with the rest of Perry’s family, took part in a longer interview with The Today Show, which is set to air later today (October 28). Guthrie hinted at more details to be revealed, including updates on Perry’s efforts to help others struggling with addiction and his legacy of sobriety support.

As fans and loved ones remember the beloved actor a year after his passing, the interview offers an intimate glimpse into Perry’s final days and the emotional impact on those closest to him. Morrison’s reflections highlight Perry’s enduring battle with addiction and his moments of clarity and peace before his untimely death.
