Mattel, the toy and family entertainment powerhouse behind beloved brands such as Barbie, Monster High, and Hot Wheels, has announced the appointment of Mara Verzé as the new head of UK consumer products. Verzé will be tasked with leading Mattel’s UK consumer products team and driving growth in licensing for the company in this key market.

In a statement, Mattel expressed excitement about Verzé’s role, emphasizing that she will “accelerate licensing in the market” and help boost the company’s footprint in the UK.

Verzé brings an impressive resume to Mattel, having previously worked with Authentic Brands Group, where she oversaw iconic brands like Nautica, Nine West, Aeropostale, Vince Camuto, Forever 21, and Izod across the EMEA and India regions. She excelled in managing licensing relationships to enhance business performance and retail profitability. Prior to that, she worked with IMG Licensing, where she was responsible for international licensees across a range of product categories including apparel, footwear, luggage, toys, and more, spanning Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.

Ruth Henriquez, Mattel’s Senior Director of Licensing, Publishing, and LBE EMEA, welcomed Verzé to the team, stating: “We are delighted to welcome Mara to the Mattel EMEA team. Her extensive experience and proven track record in managing diverse brand portfolios and driving retail profitability make her an invaluable addition.”

Verzé shared her enthusiasm for her new role, saying, “Joining a team whose passion and imagination created such iconic brands and products is a dream come true. I look forward to working with the entire Mattel team to build on their incredible momentum and play a role in the execution of Mattel’s full franchise strategy, inspiring and entertaining our fans in the UK and beyond.”

With Verzé at the helm, Mattel is expected to further solidify its presence in the UK market and continue to innovate with its globally recognized brands.
