Donald Trump’s Niece Mary Trump shares news of secret wedding: “Reader, I Married Her”

When asked about her wedding, Mary Trump disclosed that it had taken place in a private ceremony the previous year. She disclosed that she had married her bride, whose name she did not give, in October “in front of a small group of some of our family and closest friends,” as said in her most recent Substack article, which was released on Sunday, January 11.

The announcement was made by the niece of President Donald Trump, who is 60 years old. “Even now, I am still astonished by the greatest good fortune that has ever come my way,” Mary wrote. “Not only am I married to the person who has been the love of my life, but I am also married to my closest friend.

Because I allowed myself to be open to the opportunity that was presented to me about a year ago, the depth of my other relationships has increased in ways that were unexpected and unfamiliar to me. I am content in a manner that I never would have dared to conceive in the past.

Even though she had initially chosen to keep her marriage out of the spotlight for reasons that were left unexplained, the author of Who Could Ever Love You went on to explain that the “escalation of the horrors we experienced as a country” in recent months reminded her of the significance of allowing ourselves to let in “light, hope, and love.” Her uncle Donald, who is 79 years old, has been a fierce critic of her.

Mary stressed, “We must always let it in,” while also uploading a black-and-white photograph of two ladies holding hands while wearing gorgeous outfits and another photograph of a straightforward wedding ceremony. Too Much and Never Enough, the book that Mary will publish in 2020, has an opening chapter in which she discusses the experience of concealing her sexual orientation from her family throughout the formative years of her life.

In the past, she had intended to tie the knot with the woman she loved on a beach in Maui, but, because her grandpa, Fred Trump, was taken to the hospital in a critical condition only a few days before he passed away, the couple was compelled to call off their trip.

At the same time, Mary mentioned that she and her grandmother had been discussing Princess Diana’s funeral a few years later. “When she had said with some vehemence, ‘It’s a disgrace that they’re letting that little f—- Elton John sing in the service,’ I realized that it was better that she didn’t know that I was living with and engaged to a woman,” Mary remembered thinking.

More recently, Mary, who is the mother of Avary Linden Trump, the daughter she had from a former marriage, has referred to herself as the “black sheep of the family.” During a panel of speakers at the Hay Festival in May 2025, she made the following statement about Donald: “[Donald] is the only person I’ve ever met who’s never evolved, which is dangerous by the way.” This statement was reported by The Guardian.

“Never choose as your leader somebody incapable of evolving — there is no doubt that this ought to be one of the lessons that we have learned,” Mary said that she felt Donald was starting to exhibit indications of cognitive decline in an interview with The Daily Beast in November. She had previously seen evidence of cognitive deterioration in her grandpa before he passed away.

According to what she shared with the publication, “There are times when I look at him, and I see my grandfather.” I see the same expression of bewilderment on your face. I see that he does not always appear to be aware of the time and location of the situation. Unfortunately, it seems that his short-term memory is diminishing.
