‘Long and Challenging Road’ ahead for ‘Big Brother’ participant in critical condition after cardiac arrest
Mickey Lee, a recent contestant on Big Brother, has been hospitalized in “critical condition” after suffering multiple cardiac arrests, according to a fundraising page set up by a close friend.
“Today, we’re coming together with heavy hearts to ask for your support,” reads the GoFundMe page created on Lee’s behalf. “Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition.”
Lee, 35, appeared on Season 27 of the long-running reality competition series, which aired from July through September. According to the fundraiser’s organizer, Kori Smith, the sudden medical emergency has turned Lee’s life upside down.
“Mickey has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging,” Smith wrote.

The organizer explained that the “sudden health crisis” has placed significant emotional and financial pressure on Lee and her family. The fundraiser aims to help cover expenses not fully addressed by insurance, including specialist care, long-term recovery support, and travel and lodging costs for family members staying near the hospital.
Smith also highlighted Lee’s impact beyond her medical struggle, describing her as “an event curator and creative force” who “brought charm and fierce competition to the Big Brother house.”
“Mickey has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on Big Brother,” Smith added. “Let’s show her the same love and support now when she needs it most.”
As of Monday, the GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $9,700 toward its $13,000 goal, with donations continuing to come in from fans and supporters.
Lee’s fellow cast members have also rallied around her publicly. Former houseguest Jimmy Heagerty commented on Instagram, “Praying for an easy and smooth recovery.” Rachel Reilly, another well-known alum from the franchise, shared her support as well, writing, “Prayers Mickey 🙏🙏🙏 thinking about you and your family.”
Lee was last active on social media just days before her hospitalization, when she promoted a new iHeartPodcasts episode. Since then, her accounts have remained quiet as she continues to receive intensive medical care.
“Big Brother” places contestants, known as houseguests, under constant observation as they compete in challenges and form alliances to avoid eviction. Lee’s season marked her most visible public role to date, earning her a dedicated fan base that has now mobilized in support.
No further updates on her condition have been released beyond what was shared on the fundraising page.
