Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin Faces Criticism After Returning from Summer Holiday

Good Morning Britain’s popular meteorologist, Laura Tobin, returned to screens this week to deliver the upcoming weather forecast but found herself facing criticism from viewers. The 42-year-old weather presenter, live from the ITV studio, shared news of the week’s wet weather, which quickly sparked a strong reaction on social media.

During her report, Laura explained, “There’s low pressure close by, we have some showers in parts of England and they’re slowly moving their way east.” She reassured viewers, adding, “But nowhere near as heavy as the showers we had yesterday.” While her weather predictions weren’t the main source of ire, many viewers expressed frustration over her recent summer holiday, as per reports Daily Express.

One Twitter user, @JohnDoe29248490, criticized, “Don’t you just hate the smug look of our climate hypocrite!” Another viewer, @DollyShore, complained, “Another climate change lecture this morning! Stop it!!!”

A third, @HintonShaggy, commented sarcastically, “Not much global boiling propaganda this summer, probably because it was a s**t summer.” Meanwhile, @DuncanHutchiso5 added, “Just off a flight from her holidays and it’s back pushing the narrative. Basically saying that if this summer had been hotter it would have been warmer than average.”

Despite the backlash, not all feedback was negative. One viewer, @Brian_Maskell1, praised Laura, saying, “Good Morning Laura looking beautiful in your blue dress, keep up the good work you do.”

Laura’s return comes after a seven-week summer break, during which several TV presenters, including Susanna Reid, also took time off. Reid spent her break enjoying a luxurious getaway in Ibiza with her three sons. Before leaving, Laura gave a cheeky response about her vacation plans, teasing co-host Kate Garraway by saying, “I’m going to a warm place. For the next 10 days, it’s going to rain here, sorry about that.” Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6 a.m. on ITV1.
