New Book Alleges King Charles III’s Tensions with Prince Harry Intensified by Netflix Documentary

According to journalist Omid Scobie’s upcoming book, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” King Charles III reportedly expressed deep frustration over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s high-profile Netflix docuseries. The series, which debuted in December 2022, seemingly overshadowed Charles’s efforts to gain positive media attention following his ascension to the throne after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in September 2022.

An inside source, quoted in an advance copy obtained by Page Six, claims the release of “Harry & Meghan” significantly impacted the royal family, leaving Charles feeling overshadowed and undervalued. The king, who was trying to navigate his new role, allegedly went from avoiding discussions about his son to openly criticizing him, referring to Prince Harry as ‘that fool’.

The book suggests that while King Charles initially tried to maintain a dignified silence, the overwhelming attention garnered by the Sussexes’ series led to a moment of realization about the strained state of his relationship with his son. However, Scobie notes that any initial sympathy from Charles towards Harry and Meghan quickly faded as their media presence continued to eclipse his own.

The relationship between Charles and his youngest son has reportedly been strained since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020. The situation was further complicated by the couple’s Netflix project and Harry’s forthcoming memoir, “Spare”.

Despite these challenges, there are indications that both Charles and Harry are making efforts to mend their relationship. The Telegraph reported that Harry and Meghan recently reached out to Charles for his 75th birthday, even sharing a video of their children singing to him.

The book, set to release on November 28, delves into various aspects of the royal family’s dynamics, highlighting the ongoing challenges within the monarchy.
