King Charles and Queen Camilla Set to Dazzle at Buckingham Palace’s Next State Visit
0Following their recent three-day tour of France, King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to undertake their next royal duty: welcoming the South Korean President and First Lady to the U.K.
The Buckingham Palace recently confirmed that the royal couple will be hosting President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee this autumn. The statement shared, “The President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Yoon Suk Yeol, accompanied by Mrs Kim Keon Hee, will be honored guests of His Majesty The King for a State Visit to the United Kingdom in November. Buckingham Palace will serve as the backdrop for this esteemed event.”
Further details about the visit’s itinerary will be disclosed in the coming weeks.
It’s worth noting that King Charles and President Yoon last convened during a gathering at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral. At that time, like several dignitaries, President Yoon extended his condolences by signing a book at Church House in London.
State visits are paramount in the diplomatic calendar of the British Royal Family. Typically marked with grandeur, these visits commence with a ceremonial reception by the monarch and other royals at the Horse Guards Parade. The visiting leaders are treated to a carriage procession, culminating in an opulent state dinner at the Buckingham Palace ballroom.
