10-Year-Old Girl Pretends to Be Dead as Family Is Murdered — Then Comes a Chilling FaceTime Call

A horrific case out of Texas has taken another dark turn after a man admitted in court to murdering a couple and their young daughter in what police believe was a revenge-fuelled plot ordered by an ex-partner.

Xavier Davis, 32, pled guilty to capital murder this week just as his trial was kicking off, finally owning up to the brutal killings of Gregory Carhee, 35, Donyavia Lagway, 29, and their six-year-old daughter, Harmony Carhee, back in June 2021, reported PEOPLE.

According to Houston police, Davis forced his way into the family’s flat and shot Gregory and Donyavia in front of their children. He then shot Harmony in the head, killing her instantly. Her 10-year-old sister was also shot but survived by playing dead, waiting until Davis had gone before locking the door and calling relatives—all while trying to care for her baby brother, the only one Davis didn’t target.

An eight-year-old boy from the family was not at home during the attack. In a tragic twist, it emerged that Donyavia had just discovered she was pregnant with her fifth child when she was killed.

At the time Davis was arrested for the murders, he was already in custody on an unrelated charge. As the investigation progressed, police uncovered a shocking link: another woman, Alexus Williams, who had previously dated Donyavia, had allegedly orchestrated the entire thing.

Police believe Williams, 29, was driven by jealousy after the breakup and persuaded Davis—an old friend—to carry out the murders, telling him he could rob the home and take whatever he wanted. She now faces her own trial later this year and has pleaded not guilty to charges including three counts of capital murder and aggravated assault.

Even more chilling, prosecutors said during Williams’ bond hearing that Davis had FaceTimed her during the killings, effectively letting her watch the murders in real time.

The case has shaken the local community, and prosecutors aren’t holding back—they’re seeking the death penalty for Davis. With his guilty plea now in, the case is moving on to the sentencing phase.

As for Williams, all eyes will be on her trial to see if the jury believes she truly masterminded this unimaginable crime—or if she’ll continue to deny any involvement in the planning of one of Houston’s most shocking family tragedies.
