ITV Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher Makes Shocking Four-Word Confession After ‘Difficult’ Split from Wife Liz!
0Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has shared insights into how his life has transformed since leaving the soap opera spotlight for the tranquility of farm life. Known for his portrayal of Andy Sugden on the ITV series, Kelvin and his wife, Liz Marsland, took a bold leap in 2021 by purchasing a 120-acre farm in the Peak District. Together with their four children, the Fletchers now embrace the challenges and joys of rural living.
The farm, home to 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, six chickens, a cat, and a loyal dog named Ginger, represents a stark departure from their former showbiz lifestyle. Despite past turbulence in their relationship, including a brief separation due to flirtatious messages Kelvin received from admirers, the couple has rebuilt their bond and is thriving in their new environment, according to the Express.
During an appearance on BBC Breakfast, Kelvin reflected on his newfound perspective: “I think for me, I personally don’t want to seek any sort of validation elsewhere. I know how valued we are as a family and what we do on our small family farm, and I share that with every other family farm.”
Kelvin also expressed deep respect for the farming profession, saying: “You take great pride in producing food and having a real acknowledgment towards nature, towards the habitat. You’re a custodian of the land, and it’s a privilege.”
Their transition from urban to rural life has been documented in the series Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure and Fletchers’ Family Farm. Through these shows, Kelvin aims to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers, helping people understand the origins of their food. “Once you get an understanding of something, like any subject, then appreciation follows, and that’s what we all endeavor to do,” he explained.
Kelvin’s journey to farming wasn’t without challenges. His fame as a teen idol once strained his relationship with Liz. In 2010, a flood of flirtatious messages from admirers led to a temporary separation. “Liz has always been jealous of the attention Kelvin receives,” a source said at the time. However, the couple reconciled, with Kelvin addressing how he manages on-screen romances.
“I do ring her up and say, ‘I’m kissing so-and-so today’ and make a joke about it,” Kelvin revealed. “But Liz won’t watch the show because she gets too jealous. To me, though, it’s just work.” Kelvin and Liz’s love story began in childhood and culminated in a grand London wedding in 2015. Now, their shared passion for farming marks a new chapter in their life together.
