Kelly Clarkson reportedly considering exit from daytime talk show
Kelly Clarkson’s long-running daytime talk show may be nearing its end, according to multiple sources who say the singer and host is weighing a departure after the current season. Clarkson has faced an intense few years while juggling her television career with deeply personal challenges.
Insiders now suggest she is stepping back from the show, with one source saying it is “likely that it will not go on.” Another source pointed to the shifting realities of daytime television and the pressure of maintaining such a demanding production schedule, adding, “Her show is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it’s not sustainable anymore,”
The talk show has been a major success for Clarkson, earning praise for its warmth, humor, and authenticity. Still, the workload has reportedly taken a toll, especially as her personal life has undergone significant upheaval. Last year, Clarkson took an extended break from hosting as her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, battled cancer and later died of the disease. The former couple share two children, River Rose, 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9.
During Clarkson’s absence, speculation grew about the future of the show. At one point, rumors circulated that Today anchor Hoda Kotb was being considered as a potential replacement. Even before that, insiders claimed Clarkson was feeling burned out following a difficult divorce and ongoing personal pressures, and that she was considering stepping away from the demanding role.
Not everyone is convinced a decision has been finalized. Another source cautioned against jumping to conclusions, saying, “People are jumping the gun. Nothing is definite yet, and it’s a still a long season.” That perspective suggests that while conversations may be happening behind the scenes, no official announcement has been made.
Clarkson has also spoken openly in recent weeks about how she and her children are coping with their loss. Sharing a glimpse into life at home, she said, “There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit. So it’s my two dogs, my kids, and me. It’s a lot.” She added that the quiet moments together have brought unexpected comfort, explaining, “It’s been really special, though.
The conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.” For now, the future of The Kelly Clarkson Show remains uncertain. What is clear is that Clarkson is prioritizing her family and emotional well-being, even as fans and industry watchers wait to see what her next move will be.
