Keir Starmer’s Mask Slips at PMQs—Revealing One Surprising Truth About the Prime Minister

In a turbulent session of Prime Minister’s Questions today, the atmosphere in the Commons reached a boiling point as Sir Keir Starmer was repeatedly put on the spot, exposing what critics described as his lack of resolve. The session saw a barrage of tough questions that revealed an astonishing unwillingness on the part of Starmer to commit to clear answers, leaving many observers shocked at his performance.

Readers of a more delicate constitution may wish to look away now as you are unlikely to ever unsee this – but Sir Keir Starmer was laid bare at Prime Minister’s Questions today and it became glaringly apparent he had no balls. Time after time after time he simply refused to answer perfectly reasonable questions – because to do so he would have had to put his non-existent cojones on the line and take a stance, reported by the Express.

The barrage of inquiries covered a range of controversial topics. One question challenged the Government’s decision-making on two very different issues: canceling pensioners’ winter fuel allowance while simultaneously spending £18bn to Mauritius for the British sovereign territory of the Chagos islands. The inquiry demanded clarity on this dual policy but was met with silence.

Another pointed question questioned why the Government had withdrawn its own legal team in the case against those opposing Britain’s Rosebank oil and gas fields. Again, no answer was forthcoming. The session took another critical turn when the Government was grilled over its £8bn investment in the so-called “vanity project” GB Energy.

Critics argued that this expenditure would create only 1,000 jobs over 20 years, especially when compared to the existing 200,000 jobs in the oil and gas sector. Yet, the response was as elusive as the others.

Would the Prime Minister relay his extreme concerns to the White House over President Trump’s shock announcement that the US wants to annex the Gaza Strip? Did either the Prime Minister or his voice coach (stop laughing at the back) break Covid lockdown rules in 2020? In each case, the Prime Minister offered no answers, choosing instead to deflect responsibility.

Serious, important questions, were responded to with either unintelligible waffles or simply no answer at all. It’s an insult to the British public and an insult to democracy. Not that this government gives a flying one what you, the British public, think. Almost every move it has made since election night has been the wrong one – it is a Government clinically incapable of reading the room.

Adding to the chaos, a wriggling Sir Keir attempted to come over all tight-lipped George Smiley over the Chagos Islands issue, trying to suggest there may be some matter of national security at stake. There is! We are giving away a crucial military base used jointly with the USA as a bulwark largely against an increasingly belligerent China. A China that will be installed in Diego Garcia before the end of the decade if we go through with this insanity.

Yet, while some MPs such as Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage delivered their criticisms with passion, the Prime Minister remained defiant, listing off what he called his Government’s economic achievements. In contrast, the overall tone of the session was one of unaddressed accountability, leaving many to question: How can we believe a word he says?

Elsewhere, Northern Ireland Alliance MP for Langan Valley, Scorcha Eastwood, delivered one of the session’s few highlights, her passionate remarks resonating deeply with onlookers. Her authentic Belfast accent and fervent delivery provided a stark contrast to the hollow responses from the Government, leaving the chamber—and many viewers—both entertained and enraged.
