Kate Garraway Makes Surprising Health Confession Live on Air: ‘I Feel a Bit Odd’ on Good Morning Britain!

Kate Garraway shared a candid moment on Good Morning Britain when she admitted feeling “a bit odd” during a segment with Richard Arnold and Rob Rinder. The popular TV presenter attributed the sensation to a recent change in her thyroid medication and jokingly mentioned that co-star Richard’s energetic behavior was “making it worse.”

Before the lighthearted exchange, Richard had announced: “Strictly returns to BBC One this Saturday evening from 7:20 pm, and catch GMB on Monday for our chat with the stars backstage”, told Manchester Evening News.

Kate, feeling off-kilter, jumped in, saying, “Can I just mention that I have changed my thyroid medication, and everything is slightly surreal, and you’re not helping.” Richard responded in surprise, noting their long working relationship. “We’ve worked together for 24 years, I have never helped; you’ve always got your fingers on the edge of the cliff.”

The playful banter continued with Richard asking, “Have you really changed your meds?” Kate confirmed, “I feel a bit odd, I confess that now.”

Elsewhere in the program, a more emotional segment unfolded as Kate interviewed Linda Alushi, a mother grieving the loss of her four-year-old son, Daniel Klosi, to sepsis. Daniel had been repeatedly sent home from the Royal Free Hospital in Camden. Actor Jason Watkins, who tragically lost his two-year-old daughter to sepsis, also joined the conversation.

Linda tearfully recounted her experience, explaining, “We were discharged and told to give him paracetamol and wait for the temperature to go down, and that it would be ok.” She added that Daniel was not himself, refusing to eat or drink, and spent the entire day in his parents’ arms, which was unlike his usual behavior.

Jason Watkins also shared his painful memories of losing his daughter, saying, “That’s one of the painful things, thinking, ‘Did we do everything we could?’ It’s easy to blame yourself… because I was there the second time she was discharged.”

Watkins described the immense grief parents experience after such a loss, stating, “It’s indescribable, the sense of guilt, loss, the absence of your child. The light of your life is gone, and you don’t know how you can go on.”

In a recent triumph, Kate won the National Television Award for Best Authored Documentary for her heartfelt piece on her late husband, Derek Draper. Her children, Billy and Darcey, joined her on stage as she delivered an emotional thank-you speech. Derek had passed away earlier this year after battling complications from Covid for four years.
