Kate Garraway Apologizes to Josie Gibson for Festival Behavior

Kate Garraway has publicly apologized to This Morning star Josie Gibson for her behavior at a festival over the weekend. The Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, enjoyed a lively weekend at Bestival in Dorset with her children, Darcey, 17, and Billy, 15. The family fun was amplified by some time spent with friends, including a chance encounter with Josie, 39, who happened to run into Kate just as she was enjoying her first drinks in quite a while.

Sharing the highlights of her weekend on Instagram, Kate issued a light-hearted apology to Josie, humorously admitting that she might have gotten a bit too tipsy after just one and a half pints of lager. Kate’s caption read: “Well, that was fun! Bestival, thanks for a great day. Apologies to Josie Gibson for being unlucky enough to meet me after my first pint and a half of lager in a long while. What a great family-friendly festival. Now to bed.”

In other news, Kate recently shared a poignant moment involving her daughter, Darcey, and her late husband, Derek Draper. Last week, Kate revealed that Darcey visited her father’s grave to share her A Level results. Derek, who passed away in January, would have celebrated his 57th birthday on the day Darcey received her exam results, told The Mirror.

Kate broke her social media silence with a heartfelt post, expressing her pride in her daughter’s accomplishments despite the challenging circumstances. She posted a video of flowers blooming in her garden and wrote: “Congratulations to all who got their #alevel results this week – huge achievement – even if you’re disappointed in the results – won’t be – you made it to the end, and life has a way of working itself out in the best way for you.”

Kate continued, “Darcey got her results on another one of those firsts this year – Derek’s birthday. She didn’t get what she might have done but did better than any of us feared under the circumstances. I couldn’t be prouder of her, and know her Dad would be too. We went to Dad’s grave to ‘tell’ him before she went out to celebrate with friends.”

She also shared a touching moment involving roses she planted in memory of Derek. “I’m at home and just noticed the roses I planted with @itv @loveyourgarden, especially for Derek have suddenly burst into bloom! They haven’t flowered all summer.

So, I am just enjoying the incredible fragrance combined with the mint and raising a mug of tea to Derek – darling, we did it – your beautiful daughter is on her way to her next stage in life thanks to your love and guidance, and you will live on through her.” Kate concluded her message with a simple yet powerful note: “Love to all.”
