Kate and William ‘never shout’ at their children – despite Louis’ public ‘tantrums’

Kate Middleton and Prince William, despite their royal status, face the challenges of parenting, and one notable incident involving their youngest, Prince Louis, at his great-grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee became a global meme. Following such moments, a specific rule has been implemented in their parenting approach.

The royal couple’s family expanded with the arrival of Prince George in 2013, Princess Charlotte in 2015, and Louis in 2018. Juggling the responsibilities of parenthood with their royal duties, Kate Middleton and Prince William employ a unique parenting rule that sets their approach apart.

In contrast to the conventional “naughty step” method, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly introduced a “chat sofa” as part of their parenting strategy. According to a source speaking to Fabulous, the couple refrains from raising their voices at their children. Instead, they opt for a more communicative approach, sitting down with the kids to have a conversation and explain the consequences of their actions.

The insider shared that shouting is strictly prohibited in the royal household, and any hint of it is promptly addressed by removing the children from the situation. Additionally, the source mentioned that Kate is perceived as “stricter” than William in enforcing these rules. While the couple has a nanny, decisions related to the children are reportedly made collaboratively with the Duke and Duchess.

The source emphasized the team’s dedicated efforts in ensuring a balanced upbringing for the children, describing their approach as “relaxed and happy.” The parenting style is characterized as “relaxed but firm,” evident in the constant smiles seen on the children’s faces.

As Prince George approaches secondary school age, there are reports that he may not follow the tradition of attending Eton College, where both his father, William, and uncle, Prince Harry, were educated. Instead, the parents are said to be considering Marlborough College in Wiltshire, the former school of the late Princess of Wales. The school, attended by Princess Eugenie as well, is known for its positive and nurturing atmosphere, albeit with a hefty price tag of around £47,000 ($59,800).
