Joe Manganiello’s Fiancée Explains Why the Couple Moved Away From L.A.
Joe Manganiello has officially traded Los Angeles for his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he is now settling in with his fiancée, Caitlin O’Connor. The couple revealed the move in a new interview with People magazine, sharing how meaningful it feels to return to the place they both grew up.
Caitlin explained that despite spending over two decades in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh has always been a defining part of their identity. “I mean, L.A. has been both of our homes for over 20 years. I was born in L.A., but raised in Pittsburgh, so we’re both from the same hometown,” she said. Being back together in the city that shaped them has brought them closer.
“That’s what we really connect on, you know, we share the same upbringing, the same hometown knowledge. And that’s what really connects us as a couple. So it’s beautiful to be back home together.” The actress and TV host shared that they have settled into a west side suburb and are loving their new surroundings.
She described the area as both “beautiful” and “safe,” adding, “I’ve never been in a more beautiful neighborhood in Pittsburgh. It’s just idyllic.” Their relocation comes only a month after the couple announced their engagement. On June 24, 2025, they posted a photo on social media featuring themselves and their chihuahua, Bubbles, marking the milestone with a simple caption of their engagement date.
For Joe, the move represents both a fresh start and a homecoming. The Magic Mike star was previously married to actress Sofia Vergara before their relationship ended in 2023. Since then, his connection with Caitlin has grown quickly, with the couple bonding over shared roots and a desire for a quieter, more grounded life outside Hollywood.
Now back in Pittsburgh, the pair is embracing a slower pace, familiar surroundings, and the comfort of home. As Caitlin put it, settling in their hometown isn’t just a lifestyle choice — it’s something that deepens their relationship and brings them closer than ever.
