Jasmine Harman, known for her role on “A Place in the Sun,” has been instrumental in helping Brits purchase their dream homes overseas for over 20 years. At 49, Jasmine continues to shine both on and off the screen, presenting more than 200 episodes of the popular Channel 4 show alongside her best friend and co-star Jonnie Irwin since joining in 2004.
Beyond her work on “A Place in the Sun,” Jasmine has contributed to various BBC documentaries, including “Collectaholics” and “My Hoarder Mum and Me.” She has also made appearances on mainstream shows such as “This Morning” and “GMTV,” showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft.
Jasmine Harman has recently found her own perfect property in Spain, where she lives with her husband Jon Boast and their two children. The family resides in Estepona, a picturesque coastal town on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain. Their stunning home features an open-plan downstairs area, a swimming pool, and breathtaking views, embodying the idyllic lifestyle Jasmine has helped others achieve for decades.
Jasmine is married to Jon Boast, a director of photography, whom she met on the set of “A Place in the Sun” in 2004. The couple tied the knot five years later and share a daughter, Joy, aged 10, and a son, Albion, who is eight. Speaking about their relationship, Jasmine told the Express in 2021: “I met my husband Jon on my first A Place In The Sun. We did a pilot in South Africa, but when I filmed my first show for the series in Portugal, he was the cameraman. I wouldn’t actually say it was love at first sight, it was more of a slow burn. We met, became great friends and then we fell in love. Now we’ve got two children and a dog.”
The family’s move to Spain marks a significant milestone for Jasmine, who shared their journey on Instagram in October 2023: “Life has many ups and downs. Sometimes the hardest things to do, bring the greatest rewards. Moving country has been stressful and intense and at times, overwhelming. But now we’re here and we plan to make the most of it.” She added that after almost two decades of helping others relocate overseas, she and her family decided it was time to take the plunge themselves.
Jasmine’s husband, Jon Boast, described their new home as a sanctuary in a Hello! Magazine interview: “This is not just a house; it’s our sanctuary. Jasmine has worked her magic and this place already feels like our little haven.” The couple has welcomed friends and family into their new home, including Jasmine’s close friend Jonnie Irwin, who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020. “He is a very, very special friend to me. I would love it if he and Jess and the kids are able to come,” Jasmine shared with the publication.
Previously, Jasmine lived in a 1930s house in Carshalton, South London, with her family. She has openly discussed her struggles with clutter and hoarding at her mother’s home, appearing on “This Morning” with her mother, Vasoulla, who has hoarding disorder. Jasmine revealed how these challenges affected her upbringing and her fear of others discovering the state of her childhood home. “I concentrate on having a loving relationship with my mum, and not about the hoarding,” Jasmine said emotionally. “I’m so grateful to her. She’s helped me become a much more compassionate person.”
Jasmine’s journey from helping others find their dream homes to establishing her own sanctuary in Spain is a testament to her resilience and dedication. As she continues to inspire viewers on television, Jasmine Harman embraces her personal life with the same passion and commitment, proving that she truly has found her place in the sun.
