ITV’s Richard Madeley Shocks Olly Murs with Bold ‘You Make Me Sick’ Comment—Leaves Singer Speechless!
0Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley didn’t hold back when speaking with singer Olly Murs during a recent interview. The former X Factor star appeared on the show to promote his upcoming episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, airing Thursday evening.
As the interview began, viewers were treated to a montage of Olly’s greatest musical hits. Following the clip, co-host Kate Garraway referenced his hit song, Troublemaker, joking that he now has to act more mature since becoming a father. Olly shared his excitement about being able to share his professional journey with his daughter, while heartwarming family photos were displayed on-screen, according to The Mirror.
Richard humorously commented, “Look at you! You’ve got a beautiful baby, you’ve got a beautiful wife. You look great, you’ve got a fantastic career, and a great back catalog. You make me sick!”
Though said in jest, Olly laughed, responding, “I’ll take it!” Richard quickly clarified, “What I mean is, you must feel blessed sometimes.” Olly, 40, agreed, reflecting on the dramatic changes in his life over the past couple of years. Since marrying Amelia Tank in 2023 and welcoming their daughter, Madison, this April, the singer’s personal life has flourished.
Celebrating 15 years in the music industry, Olly reflected on his enduring success. However, Richard seemed taken aback, saying, “It’s not 15 years? I thought that was a misprint in our notes.” Olly confirmed, “It has been an amazing time. I’m super happy, life’s good at the moment.”
Kate Garraway commended Olly for his energy and dedication to his work, noting that his perseverance seems to be in his DNA. “Tonight we see that spirit goes right back through the genes,” she observed. During the chat, Olly shared a fascinating revelation from his Who Do You Think You Are? episode. He learned that his great-grandmother, Veronica, was a trapeze artist. “She was a full-time trapeze artist, and in one clip, she was five months pregnant with my grandad!” he revealed.
He went on to describe how Veronica and her troupe traveled around the Baltic region, performing for troops during wartime. “There was me thinking I was the only Murs to have my name in lights, but Murs was already a thing!” Olly said with a smile. It’s clear that while Olly’s professional success continues to soar, his personal life and family heritage are bringing him new sources of joy and discovery.
