Holly Willoughby gives extreme serious message amid Phillip Schofield’s ‘TV sister’ remarks
0Holly Willoughby recently shared a powerful message about “embracing independence” on her Instagram, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation that it may have been in response to her former friend and co-star Phillip Schofield, who appears to have indirectly criticized her in his latest television show Cast Away.
In her Instagram Stories, the ex-This Morning presenter reposted a message from her wellness brand, Wylde Moon, which referenced the energy of the Hunter’s Supermoon in Aries. The post encouraged followers to embrace their personal power and take charge of their lives, signaling a new chapter for many. The message read:
“This powerful moon phase urges you to embrace your independence and take charge in areas where you’ve felt hesitant. Now is the time to focus on your desires and make your mark. Believe. Embrace. Surge.”
This cryptic post comes amidst reports of tension between Willoughby and Schofield, following his controversial departure from This Morning. Schofield reportedly sent Willoughby a WhatsApp message accusing her of contributing to his declining TV career, which suffered after he admitted to an inappropriate relationship with a younger male staff member from the show.
Schofield left ITV in May 2023 following the scandal, calling the affair “unwise but not illegal.” In his message to Willoughby, Schofield allegedly expressed disbelief that his long-time “TV sister” did not support him through the aftermath, which he described as “the biggest grenade going off in your life.”
After a 16-month hiatus, Schofield made his return to television with a three-part series, Cast Away, on Channel 5. The show saw him spending 10 days on a deserted island off the coast of Madagascar. During the series, he appeared to make a playful reference to Willoughby by mimicking her signature “OK” greeting from their time on This Morning.
In her first appearance after Schofield’s exit, Willoughby began her show by asking viewers, “Firstly, are you OK?”, a phrase that had become a familiar part of her on-air persona. Schofield, during a lighthearted moment with his family on Cast Away, asked, “Is everyone OK?”, which many saw as a thinly veiled reference to Willoughby.
Although neither of them have publicly addressed the ongoing tension directly, it’s clear that the fallout between the once-close colleagues continues to resonate, with each new public gesture leaving fans to read between the lines.
