BBC Reporter’s Hilarious Rant at Manchester Airport Has Viewers in Stitches

BBC Breakfast viewers were treated to a funny and totally relatable moment on Monday morning’s show as reporter Sarah Rogers found herself reporting live from Manchester Airport – but not going anywhere herself.
Fronted by Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson, the show was packed with news updates and guest interviews, including one with musician Gregory Porter. But it was Sarah’s airport segment that had everyone laughing, reported the Express.
Sharing live updates on Easter holiday travel, Sarah listed off the popular destinations passengers were heading to, including Palma, Iceland, and Amsterdam. Then, unable to hide her envy, she blurted out: “But, I tell you what, it’s absolute torture being here at the airport and not going anywhere!”
Back in the studio, Sally and Ben cracked up. “It’s not fair is it, Sarah! Go and get yourself a pint maybe with everyone else,” Sally said, trying to lift her spirits. “It’s not fair!” Sarah repeated, clearly feeling the sting of not jetting off herself. Sally then cheekily added, “Join in the mood!” as Ben joked, “We may or may not see her a little later.”
The relatable moment sparked a light-hearted chat between the presenters about all-inclusive holidays. Sally asked: “The problem with an all-inclusive holiday is, when do you know when to stop eating? And drinking?” to which Ben added: “And, you might feel you don’t ever want to leave… you’re not going to go and buy a drink in a bar.”
Sally didn’t seem too bothered by that problem, quipping: “Trapped in luxury! It doesn’t sound terrible actually.” Ben grinned, “There’s worse problems to have!”
The Easter Monday episode saw Ben standing in for regular host Jon Kay, who normally presents the show alongside Sally at the start of the week. The rest of the week is typically covered by Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty, with occasional appearances from other familiar faces like Nina Warhurst.
Sarah’s airport moment definitely struck a chord with viewers stuck at home during the holidays — reminding us all how painful it can be to watch others head off to the sunshine while you’re still working.
