“I felt that he was bound to say ‘I’m so sorry” Prince Harry was accused of snubbing the royal family to make Meghan Markle happy

Prince Harry’s recent actions during his trip to Jamaica, particularly his decision to take a photo with politicians known for their anti-monarchy views, have sparked controversy and criticism. This move, coupled with his apparent silence on the health issues of his father, King Charles, and sister-in-law, Princess Kate, has led to accusations that he is prioritizing his wife, Meghan Markle, over his familial ties to the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex, who recently appeared at a high-profile film premiere alongside the Duchess, has faced criticism for not publicly addressing the health concerns of his close family members while maintaining a public display of affection with Meghan.

Angela Levin, a royal author, expressed her disappointment to the mirror noting that Prince Harry did not offer any public comment or expression of concern about his father and sister-in-law’s health. Levin suggested that Harry is in a difficult position, feeling compelled to prioritize Meghan’s preferences, which she perceives as demanding.

Levin further elaborated on Prince Harry’s situation, stating in her own words that while he still harbors love for his family, Meghan’s needs and desires come first. She implied that Meghan expects Harry to limit his contact with the royal family.

“He didn’t say anything. I felt that he was bound to say ‘I’m so sorry to hear that both my father and sister-in-law are unwell’. He just needed to say one sentence. I think he’s between a rock and a hard place. He’s got to please his wife to an extreme. I think she’s very difficult,” royal author Angela Levin.

Levin also commented on the couple’s behavior towards the royal family, asserting that despite the family’s efforts to accommodate them, Meghan desired to have things her way. She claimed that the Sussexes seem to believe they understand better than the royal family how to manage their affairs and prefer to distance themselves from the institution.

The royal commentator also criticized the couple for their abrupt announcement in 2020 regarding their departure from royal duties. Levin highlighted that the royal family had discussed and accepted the possibility of their departure, wishing them well. However, she noted that the family had advised a more gradual and thoughtful approach, which the couple chose not to follow.

Levin’s remarks also touched upon the significant distance she believes the Sussexes have created between themselves and the rest of the royal family since relocating to the United States. Her comments reflect ongoing discussions and debates surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family and their decision to step back from their roles as senior royals.
