Prince Harry purposefully chose date to mark US residency to ‘troll’ King Charles

Prince Harry has been accused of subtly provoking his father, King Charles III, by selecting a significant date for his US residency on business documents that coincide with the day he and his wife, Meghan, were evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

This move has sparked discussions among royal observers, suggesting a possible underlying message in the timing. Royal Editor Charlotte Griffiths shared her insights on this issue, stating that Prince Harry had the flexibility to choose any date to mark his residency in the United States. However, the date he opted for was the very day he and Meghan officially ceased to be working members of the British royal family.

“I wouldn’t put it past him to have deliberately put that in there to spite his father,” she said, adding, “To me, it feels like he’s trolling his dad a bit because he could have said that he’s been a US resident since 2020 when he quit the UK and moved to the States, but instead he chose the exact day that his dad kicked him out of Frogmore.”

“The reason his dad kicked him out of Frogmore was because he’d slagged off Camilla in Spare. Apparently, it was a really difficult decision for Charles because no dad wants to kick their son out of their home. But he went beyond the pale,” she added. For the unversed, King Charles asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to vacate the Frogmore Cottage last year even though it was a gift to the Duke from the late Queen Elizabeth.

This particular choice of date has been interpreted by some as a pointed gesture towards King Charles III during a notably challenging period in his life, as he faces a serious health battle. During a conversation with Ben Leo on GB News, Griffiths elaborated on her viewpoint, suggesting that the Duke of Sussex’s decision was not merely coincidental but a calculated move to send a message.

She described this act as “trolling,” indicating a deliberate attempt to provoke or send a subtle signal to his father. The timing of this action is especially poignant given King Charles’s current health concerns, which adds a layer of complexity to the interpretation of Prince Harry’s motives.

This situation highlights the ongoing complexities within the royal family, particularly between Prince Harry and the broader institution, against the backdrop of his recent move to the United States and the stepping back from royal duties. The choice of such a symbolic date for marking an official change in residency might reflect deeper sentiments and unresolved issues between Prince Harry and the royal family, which have been public and contentious at times.

The implications of such a move extend beyond personal family dynamics, touching on the public’s perception of the royal family and the narratives surrounding their relationships. It raises questions about the nature of the communication and relationships within the family, especially during times of personal and public challenges such as health issues.

As the royal family navigates these personal dynamics and their public implications, the actions of its members under scrutiny reveal not just personal choices but also strategic communications that resonate with wider narratives and public interest. Prince Harry’s choice of such a loaded date could therefore be seen as an expression of his ongoing struggle with his royal identity and his relationship with his family, especially his father, during a critical time.
