Harry and Meghan’s Children Could Build Lasting Royal Ties Through Eugenie’s Family

Prince Harry is reportedly maintaining ties with the Royal Family by purchasing a home in Portugal, a move that could potentially pave the way for reconnection, according to royal expert Hugo Vickers. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently acquired a lavish property in the scenic region of Alentejo, located near Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Their decision to settle in this area follows their visit after the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, last September.

Vickers highlighted the significance of Harry’s close relationship with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, and suggested that nurturing connections between their children could serve as a meaningful link to the Royal Family. With Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie, aged five, and Lilibet, aged three, growing up close in age to Eugenie’s sons, August, three, and Ernest, one, Vickers believes that their budding friendships could also create future bonds with Prince William and Princess Kate’s children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

In an interview with The Sun, Vickers noted that Archie and Lilibet might eventually come to realize the gravity of their royal lineage, particularly as they grow older and understand that their cousin, Prince George, is destined to be the future King of England. “It could be a very interesting extension to life, and so that could be a wonderful route in,” Vickers remarked, hinting at the bittersweet nature of this potential revelation.

Vickers also suggested that Harry may reflect on what he gave up by stepping back from his royal duties and could encourage his children to explore similar opportunities he once had within the royal circle. The proximity to Eugenie’s family, he added, provides an excellent opportunity for the next generation to grow up together, which could help bridge any gaps that exist over time.

As Archie and Lilibet grow, Vickers believes they will form their own opinions about their royal connections. “The next generation often tries to mend the bridges,” he noted, stressing the importance of keeping communication lines open between Harry’s family and the rest of the royals.

Vickers also underscored the importance of Princess Eugenie’s role in Harry’s life, calling her a crucial figure from his past, whose presence could aid in reconnecting him with his royal heritage.
