Harry and Meghan Face Criticism Over ‘Wrong Message’ in New Documentary
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are under fresh scrutiny following the release of a German documentary, Harry: The Lost Prince, which accuses the couple of hypocrisy as they transition from senior royals to global charity advocates, reported by the Express.
The documentary highlights a perceived disconnect between the couple’s luxurious lifestyle and their roles as champions of social causes. Critics have taken issue with their trips to economically struggling countries, including Nigeria and Colombia, where Harry and Meghan were photographed wearing expensive designer outfits.
Royal reporter Russell Myers addressed the controversy, stating: “If you’re visiting places with vast socio-economic issues, wearing tens of thousands of pounds in designer clothing sends the wrong message.”
The film also raises questions about the couple’s charity, Archewell. It highlights that Harry and Meghan admitted to dedicating only about an hour per week to the foundation, a revelation that has fueled further backlash. Adding to the concerns, donations to Archewell have seen a sharp decline. Contributions reportedly dropped from $13 million in 2021 to just $2 million in 2022, marking an $11 million decrease.

“I was just like, ‘Mate, just leave it out,’” McBean said. He recalled a personal connection with Harry, having shared a flight home after their service in Afghanistan. The veteran suggested that the prince should have refrained from airing private family grievances in his book.
